Happy Friday, loves!
I was browsing Pinterest the other day for home decor ideas, and stumbled across a couple of wall decor ideas of hanging yarn. I haven’t DIY-ed anything in a while, mostly because my art supplies aren’t here with me, but have been craving to do so. I love home decor and I love DIY, so I thought I’d give this a try.
I took a trip to Michael’s to check out what they had, and I guess it was my lucky day because all the yarn was on sale. It only cost me a little over $10 to make something that would probably cost at least $60 at urban outfitters!
The concept of this DIY is pretty simple and can honestly be personalized any way you want. It really is just tying yarn to a wooden dowel, but if you want to make something sliiightly more fancy like I did, you can make yours two tiered (or three!), add some knitting, or really anything your cute little heart desires! ^_^
I didn’t want to explain the process step-by-step because there are literally a million ways you can design and make this, but here are just a couple of images from the process for inspiration:
– braid some pieces of hanging yarn to add texture!
-don’t limit yourself to yarn- try adding ribbons, garlands, or even fabric!
-put in some wooden beads for a rustic vibe
-instead of using a wooden dowel, use an actual branch
-this goes without saying, but browse around Pinterest for inspiration (check out this, this, and this!)
