Holiday Season Essentials

The holiday season is one hundred percent my favourite time of the year. There’s just something so magical about the atmosphere that never fails to give me the warm fuzzies inside. In collaboration with Kimberly Hsieh from Love, Kimber, we’re here to show you our holiday essentials that keep us feeling merry and festive throughout the holiday season.

1. Super Soft & Cozy Throw

Soft, fluffy blankets are one of my absolute must-haves- not just for the holiday season, but for the entire winter. Nothing feels more comforting than wrapping yourself in a super soft, cozy throw (and walking around the apartment pretending to me a polar bear).

2. Advent Calendar

Not gonna lie, I bought my advent calendar back in October. What in the world is Halloween… it’s all about Christmas for me! I love advent calendars because it’s just a little something to brighten up your days all the way up to Christmas.

3. Holiday Treats

It’s not Christmas if you don’t have some holiday treats lying around the place. This year I made Christmas sugar cookies, a bunch of yummy no-bake holiday treats, and some adorable melted snowman cookies!

4. Holiday Activities

Who says essentials are limited to physical items? Participating in holiday activities is definitely a must-do for me. There’s nothing more festive than strolling through a Christmas market with a cup of mulled wine in your hands while absorbing the atmosphere of it all. I’ve already been to Toronto’s Christmas Market at the Distillery District twice already, and am planning to go once more!

 5. Knit Beanies

I absolutely love bundling up in cold weather gear, but my favourite item this year has to be my white pom pom knit beanie. It’s my go-to when I head out the door because the colour goes well with everything. Pom pom beanies are not everyone’s cup of tea, but I just think that they make any winter outfit look super cute!

6. Christmas Music

My number one place to go to when I want to play some Christmas tunes is Spotify. They have plenty of holiday playlists for different moods and occasions. My all time favourite Christmas song is Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas- it’s the perfect song to set the mood for a cozy night in.

7. Hot Chocolate

I love curling up on my sofa with blankets and some hot chocolate after a long day. I picked up a tin of Godiva Milk Chocolate Hot Cocoa from HomeSense a couple weeks back. I always top mine with a bunch of mini marshmallows because let’s be real- hot chocolate is just not complete without marshmallows on top!

8. Festive PJs

I’m a sucker for cute, cozy pajamas. Just walking into a store full of pyjamas and makes me a little giddy. Why wear boring, old PJs when you can wear an adorable skiing penguins PJ set?
