Unwinding by cozying up in my bed with homemade hot chocolate, stroopwafels, and some good ol’ music is becoming a thing.
Also, I rediscovered how therapeutic doodling can be.
1) Homemade hot chocolate
I justify topping my hot chocolate with lotsaaa whipped cream because homemade hot chocolate is healthier than store bought so it balances out (riiiight???). Okay but really, no one needs to justify adding whipped cream to anything. I just find store bought hot chocolate to sometimes be overly sweet, so why not make my own? Literally all you need is cocoa powder, sugar, and any kind of milk you prefer. My preference for cocoa powder to sugar is 1:0.85 spoonful, but whatever floats your boat really.
Are the. Bomb. Diggity. Dot. Com. I was introduced to them this past summer and have been addicted ever since. Okay they are not the cheapest snacks (found them for 4 dollar something in a pack of 8) and you can’t find them everywhere, but I don’t even care. I’ve literally been having one every day for like two weeks now and I don’t really plan on stopping. If you’ve never tried them before what are you even doing.
Anyways, the point of this post is: the last few weeks have been really stressful and emotional for me, but I’ve been trying to find small things that make me feel a little better. And this nightly routine has given me something to look forward to each day.
Sometimes when I feel sad, I feel stupid for being said. I feel like I don’t deserve to be sad because there are bigger problems in the world. But I’ve come to learn that you can’t compare your feelings to others. Listen to your feelings, focus on yourself, and do what makes you feel better. Just because others might ‘have it worse’, your feelings are not any less significant.
