When I woke up last Sunday to the world masked in a thin blanket of white fluff, I felt like a five year old on Christmas morning. It’s not even that I haven’t experienced snow before. I guess it’s because it marks the start of my first real Canadian winter (heh, sorry west coast…) as an adult. The last time I experienced an east coast winter was when I was in kindergarten.
The temperature has gone back up a bit in the past few days, so I guess Mother Nature was just giving us a little taste of what’s to come. But since winter weather hit, it would only be appropriate to do a little winter ootd.
I started off with a basic knit sweater paired with my go-to black jeans, layered on a timeless camel wool coat, and finished off the look by draping a windowpane check scarf over my neck. As usual, I kept the colours neutral to keep this look classic.
Not gonna lie, this outfit makes me feel all sophisticated and adult-like. 🙂
Heaters make indoors too warm for coats, so I would substitue the coat by draping the scarf around my shoulders to give it a poncho-like look. Super easy but still super stylish. Annnd if you didn’t know already, I have a little obsession with mockencks and turtlenecks. This particular mockneck has slits on the side, which I think makes it look 20 times more flattering.
